The Harbor Impact Foundation's mission is to build and operate a non-profit, state-of the-art indoor sports facility for children in and around Benton Harbor, Michigan. The facility will house the Harbor Impact Group and help grow its successful program teaching basketball skills while instilling life-lessons and values such as character, team work, discipline, respect and sportsmanship. Our goal is to bring young athletes from diverse backgrounds and income levels together, leaving their differences at the door and getting to know each other through a shared love of basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, track & field and more. Harbor Impact Founder Rodney Alexander helped lead Benton Harbor High School to an undefeated basketball season in 2005. After graduating from at the University of Illinois, Alexander played professionally overseas for more than a decade. He retired, returned home and started coaching two kids in his driveway for fun. Now Harbor Impact has 13 teams with more than 300 players being trained. NCAA and AAU certified coaches help them realize their maximum potential and navigate the college application/recruiting process to ensure more teens from low-income families can earn college scholarships and change the trajectory of their lives. The Harbor Impact Foundation will ensure no child is turned away due to inability to pay and bring in professional support services, including homework tutors, sports psychologists, mental health counselors and more to help these student athletes succeed in all facets of life both on and off the court.
Thank you for your support!
